Nestled on the southernmost coast of Spain, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic, Tarifa is not just a picturesque town. It’s a haven for wind lovers and a global kitesurfing hotspot. With its consistent winds and expansive beaches, it provides the perfect stage for a kitesurfing holiday. The kitesurfing season in Tarifa kicks off in March and extends through November.

This year, it’s set to host an extraordinary event that combines the thrill of kitesurfing with a mission of empowerment and camaraderie: the Women Active Kite Camp. Once again, organized in collaboration with Big Blue Boards and hosted by Tarifa Max Kitesurfing school.

A Kite Camp with a Mission

The Women Active Kite Camp in Tarifa isn’t just about kitesurfing; it’s a movement.

Aimed at women of all ages and skill levels: from beginners eager to try kitesurfing for the first time, to advanced riders looking to perfect their tricks.

The camp offers an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment. Organized in the beautiful backdrop of Tarifa, the camp is set to run in April, June, and October, capturing the essence of the best wind conditions.

Tarifa is a gem on the coast of Andalusia, known for its stunning natural beauty, historical landmarks, and vibrant local culture.

But above all, it’s celebrated for its wind conditions, earning the title of the wind capital of Europe. This unique climate makes Tarifa the perfect location for a kite camp, offering reliable wind for lessons, practice, and improvement.

Beyond its renowned kitesurfing scene, Tarifa boasts a charming town ambiance characterized by winding streets and whitewashed facades. After an exhilarating day on the water, unwind in the town’s laid-back atmosphere and discover its array of eateries, bars, and boutiques—a perfect complement to your kitesurfing holiday.

The Collaboration for this kite camp

These series of kite camps is the result of a collaboration between Tarifa Max Kitesurfing, a renowned kitesurfing school in business since 25 years, with a history of excellence in instruction and safety, and Big Blue Boards, the first kiteboarding brand dedicated exclusively to women. This partnership embodies a shared vision of encouraging more women to take up and excel in kitesurfing, a sport that has seen, luckily, a tremendous increase in female participation over the years.

What to Expect from the Kite Camp

The camp promises more than just kitesurfing lessons. It’s an immersive experience that includes:

• Personalized Instruction: Small group sizes ensure personalized attention from certified female kitesurfing instructors, allowing for tailored advice and guidance. We are IKO, FAV, and VDWS certified.
• Equipment Designed for Women: Thanks to Big Blue Boards, participants will have access to equipment specifically designed for women, making learning easier and more comfortable.
• Stay active: as the name of the camp says, this week you’ll be doing a lot of sports. A full immersion in kitesurfing for sure, but also yoga classes, fitness functional training, and hikes.
• Cultural Experiences: Experience the magic of Tarifa and its surrounding towns, beyond the beach, with organized activities that explore its rich culture, history, and cuisine.

Experience a week packed with exhilarating kiteboarding activities. Our kite lessons in Tarifa are conducted in semi-private groups (2 students per instructor max.), ensuring a personalized experience. Every female kitesurfing instructor is IKO, FAV, or VDWS certified, guaranteeing expert guidance.

Every evening we will propose a dinner plan that you are free to join. Pizza, vegetarian, tapas, you name it!

 If there’s only one person per teacher, the lesson time will be reduced.

Participants have the opportunity to schedule extra kiteboarding lessons throughout the camp. We provide all necessary equipment for the duration of your lessons.

The required level to rent is riding upwind.

We only have 8 spaces per camp, to ensure everyone the best attention and progression. We want to maintain a close-knit, intimate atmosphere that fosters personal connections and growth.
